Displaying a medium brick red hue, the 2019 Amarone Della Valpolicella Santico is rich in aromas of mocha and baked cherries. The palate is characterized by a good deal of purity and depth, with ripe fruit and a long finish. Very nicely structured, it’s dry in style and has oak spice on the finish with vanilla.

A spicy, dark-fruited wine with roasted black pepper, lead pencil and licorice combined with blackberries and plums. Medium- to full-bodied, it shows nervy, chalky tannins and crisp acidity. Needs more integration. Try after 2026.
