James Suckling: 97 Points

A great wine from a great vineyard that showcases the winery's current approach to leaner, fresher wines. Beautiful floral, spicy and sultry fruit flavors make an irresistible combination. It's full-bodied and elegantly balanced. Focused black cherries, sour cherries, black tea and star anise build on the palate and linger in the finish.

Jeb Dunnuck: 95 Points

Structured and substantial in earthy, forested notes, the 2021 Pinot Noir Cerise Vineyard is made from a selection of multiple clones, 6% whole-cluster fermented in stainless steel, concrete, and oak, and aged in new French and Austrian oak for 18 months. Subtle layers of crisp red fruit adorn a palate of underlying elegance beneath a graceful layering of chalky tannins and floral aromatics. Age through 2041.

Decanter: 93 Points

This wine comes from the Cerise Vineyard above Boonville, where Pinot Noir can ripen a bit more. While remaining floral and mineral, it offers plenty of ripe fruits in the aromatics. On the fruit-dominant palate, cherries are lifted by notes of blood orange and mountain herbs, providing a savoury balance to the fruit-driven core.

Wine Spectator: 92 Points

Juicy and nicely defined, with a mix of raspberry and blood orange notes that sparkle with energy, as forest floor, red tea and sagebrush hints fill in on the structured finish. Drink now through 2027. 1,418 cases made.

Wine Advocate: 92 Points

The 2021 Pinot Noir Cerise Vineyard is super spicy: Red Hots cinnamon candy, aniseed and Angostura bitters complement a core of red and black cherries and violet. The medium-bodied palate pairs concentrated fruit with velvety tannins and juicy acidity, and it has a long, spicy finish. It will benefit from 3-5 years in the cellar.
