2000 Dos Victorias Gran Elias Mora
A Tempranillo Dry Red Table wine from Toro, Castilla Leon, Spain
A juiced up cuvee is the spectacular 2000 Gran Elias Mora (100 cases for the USA) fashioned from 50-year old Tinta de Toro vines, and aged 17 months in 100% new French oak. This unfiltered red exhibits an opaque purple color along with a big, sweet nose of blackberry and cherry liqueur intermixed with hints of road tar, licorice, and pepper. Loads of depth, great ripeness, tremendous purity, and a multilayered texture result in a substantial yet elegant, well-balanced red to drink over the next 5-6 years.
