Domaine du Vieux Lazaret Châteauneuf-du-Pape red has a full deep colour with the bouquet of spice and old leather, with flavour and balance of tannin, length and ripe fruit. It can be enjoyed over 8-12 years, and accompany all red meats, casseroles and cheeses.

Robert Parker 90 points (Oct 2008) The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape’s dense ruby/purple color is followed by a bouquet of charcoal, framboise, black raspberries, and a hint of spring flowers. It is a rich, full-bodied, concentrated effort with silky tannins and good acidity. Enjoy it over the next 12-15 years.
This continues to be the top estate in the Jerome Quiot portfolio. These wines are made in a quasi-modern style with gorgeous levels of fruit as well as superb purity, but the taster never doubts this is a Chateauneuf du Pape, not Burgundy or Bordeaux. Wine Spectator 89 points (Nov 30 2009) A bright, fresh style, with perfumy incense, red currant and red cherry notes laid over supple structure. The finish is open and inviting. Drink now through 2014. 5,000 cases imported. –JM |
